Sebastian Schlund


Short Bio
Sebastian Schlund holds the BMVIT endowed professorship of Human Centered Cyber ​​Physical Production and Assembly Systems at Technische Universität Wien. His research and lecture focus is on work design, ergonomics, digitalization and automation of manufacturing work. He currently builds up the research area Human Machine Interaction in Manufacturing. His central research interest is on the conception, design and implementation of digitally networked assembly systems, assistance systems in manufacturing, demographic-oriented work organization as well as work organization, task division and competence development for the future manufacturing work.

Sebastian Schlund studied transport management at the TU Berlin and the INSA Lyon and received a doctor’s degree at the Bergische Universität Wuppertal in the field of quality management. From 2010 to 2017 he worked as senior researcher at the University of Stuttgart and headed the Competence Center “Production Management” at the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering (IAO). In this role, he was responsible for numerous research and industrial projects in the fields of lean management, industrial design and Industry 4.0 in various industries and company sizes.
